On the 19th of December I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Jacqueline and Antony at the picturesque setting of Crowcombe Court.
I arrived to find things feeling very festive, the log fire burning and a magnificent Christmas tree standing in the great hall. The owners Kate and David were excellent hosts and organisers (as ever) providing me with a delicious meal before I left in the evening. I love working at this spectacular venue and tend to feel like I am returning home whenever I come as I was fortunate enough to be brought up nearby.
Once photos of Jacqueline getting ready and the bridesmaids were taken I headed off to St Mary's Church in Bishops Lydeard for the marriage ceremony before returning to Crowcombe for the wedding breakfast. Unusually for me I had to deal with some drizzly grey skies (this really is unusual as I often joke to prospective bride and grooms that I order the sunshine in advance!). Also being December there was the issue of shorter days at this time of year so it made things slightly more challenging but it was great to get some unique umbrella shots and the limited lighting added to the mood and romance.
Fortunately Jacqueline and Antony were delighted with the photographs and I was overwhelmed by their response, it really is gratifying to know they have enjoyed viewing the pictures as much as I have taking them.
